Bad Vegan, Karate Demo Mishap and Captain Hook



September 28, 2013

I slept in while Richard went to the dojo to teach classes. Around noon, I went up to the dojo I train at to watch some performances they were putting on. I walked in just in time to catch Richard doing his flying kama and slashing his elbow open. 

Afterwards, we went back up to our office/dojo to bandage him up and get things we needed for a community event our Demo Team was performing at. We had some time to kill before the demo so we went to an antique mall and then I convinced him to go to Green, a vegan restaurant. OMG, he hated it! It was so entertaining to watch him make faces of disgust every time he took a bite. Best $18 ever!! We won’t be going back though.

After our really bad meal, we went to Eldorado Park for the Luna Glow Dash and our Demo Team put on a great performance! My knee was actually giving me issues so I had to go back to our booth and sit down during the middle of it. I may have pushed it a bit too much.

When we got home, Netflix had sent me Hook. Great flick, although I fell asleep half-way through!


Reflexology and Rest

Not feeling too well today. You know that achy feeling right before you get the flu? That’s me today. I had planned to go out tonight with a group for a French meal but I think it’s best if I stay home and rest. I have to get prolotherapy in four days and the last thing I want is to be sick and in pain. 

I did receive a reflexology/energy work session today from Julie Sullivan and it was amazing! Now, home to rest. 


Leg Day Backfire

My day started with an early morning meeting and then straight to my office/dojo. I am so sore from yesterday. My calves hate me right now. The good thing is that I can’t tell if it’s muscle soreness or the injury! 

Leg Day for Gimps

Went to the gym again today. I worked legs pretty hard (well, hard for a gimp). It’s amazing that I’m used to doing such dynamic exercises and I can barely do a leg extension without weight. It feels like I’m starting all over again. But, as they say, “How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.”


Tuesdays with Tiffany

Made it to the gym this morning and went in for ortho-bionomy right after. I had committed to taking Tuesdays off work but got wrapped up in going to the office for several weeks. I’ve taken off the past couple Tuesdays now and am loving it. Although I still work from home, having that one day to run errands, schedule my appointments and rest is so vital.

Knee Update



September 23, 2013

Back to the grind. I was supposed to go to the gym again this morning but I got so busy with the Monday morning madness, I skipped the gym and went straight to work.

My knee is doing much better though. I’m not limping anymore. I’m able to walk up stairs without too much pain. I still have limitations in extending and flexing all the way and lose my balance every now and then. As uncomfortable as it was, I believe the prolotherapy really helped. I’m getting another set of injections in a week. Starting with acupuncture and ortho-bionomy right after the injury also assisted in getting blood flowing to the area and helped ease the pain. I feel that it’s all going to be OK.
