I'll Take Some Instant Gratification Please

I got prolotherapy on Friday, August 30. Dr. Peace said that I needed to be down for at least a week so I thought I’d be able to resume going to the gym starting this week. However, my leg is still sore and bruised on the lateral side. So much that I can’t fit in to my brace. I figure I’ll give it until the end of this week and try again. 

It’s strange because my knee feels more stable but it’s sorer than it was before. I felt like I was getting better, more range of motion and less swelling with my sessions with Dr. Xiao, ortho-bionomy and being back at the gym. But now, I feel like I’ve taken a step backwards as far as soreness, but a step forwards in stability. Maybe it’s just a phase of healing. 

I have to keep reminding myself that it’s only been eight-weeks. Injuries like this usually take six to 12-months. I am recognizing how ‘instant gratification’ I am! Not a good trait.
