MMA Debut With Knockout

August 10, 2013

Today is one of Richard’s students, Noah’s, first amateur MMA fight (holy cow – are all those punctuations correct??). I would have been in Chicago right now if I didn’t have a bum knee, but I’m glad I could stay to attend this event, too.

I spent the entire morning and early afternoon pretty much inactive with my leg propped up because I knew it was going to be a long night, and it was! We arrived to Wild Horse Pass around 4pm and literally pulled in to our driveway around 3am Sunday. Noah had to be there early to weigh in, get his line-up schedule and apparently, just sit around. Towards 6pm, the Peaceful Warrior cheering section began to arrive. He had a great group from our dojo, plus several friends from work all show up to support him.

Noah’s fight was the first one after intermission. Watch this clip. That is all I have to say about that. He was great!!

My knee held up for more than12-hours and really didn’t start getting sore until we all sat down to eat after the fights. A good night’s rest and I was refreshed for the next day, ummm, late afternoon:)

Rockin' the bionic woman leg brace for the fights!
